Scenario 1
Aliens have taken control over all the worlds’ monsters and have commanded them to wreak havoc and destruction. Good Toho vs. Bad Toho 6 on 6 team battle for points. The battle raged for three hours causing major destruction to the city and produced many surprises; the awaking of the sleeping dragon and Eberiah the sea monster.
The coming of the JDF, Majin, Ultraman, Super X, and Atragon to defend the doomed city. Even Speed Racer tried to help, but was atomized by King Gedorah the second he appeared. With half the city in ruins, Bad Toho trounced Good Toho by almost 100pts, and of the good toho monsters, only Mothra and Angelus survived to the end. Megalon was the winning monster with 78pts.
Scenario 2
The city remains in ruins (no reset, the damage stayed) the JDF, at wits end pulls out its last best hope, The Shogun Warriors! Giant Monster vs. Giant Robot for the city. Players arrived to see the city half destroyed JDF everywhere. Super x and Atragon in flight. The sleeping Dragon awake and cranky. And Alien Space ships on the move. If the monsters earned 300pts, the city was theirs. 7 of the 10 players were repeat players from the 1st session. The Shogun Warrior team decided to yell each of their attacks in true Anime fashion, making for a very fun session.
The Shogun team, backed by the JDF, Super X and Atragon proved to way overmatch the monsters. (My Bad). So, we all agreed to cut the monsters needed points in half. But Suddenly, Boba Fett flanked by two imperial storm troopers burst into the gaming room and we had to pause to take pictures. I gave Boba Fett rabbit ears. Game on! With the popping of Godzilla’s feat, new hope sprang up in the mind controlled hearts of the monsters but the relentless assault of the robots was unrelenting. By the end of the session, only Godzilla’s non fleshy counterpart, Mechagodzilla was left. The points were added and it all came down to one roll! The monsters had 145pts. Gaiking was in range and was hanging on by a thread. A kill shot from Mechagodzilla would win the game for the Monsters. She missed it by one damage point! The city was saved! But Mechagodzilla won the game with 52pts.
All and all it was a great convention. All the players loved the game and had tons of fun and there were no fights, despite the second sessions balance problem. There was much praise and accolades for Justin, Scott and myself. And we received many invites to run the game at other conventions.
