GMS 1 is unveiled for the first time at Havoc! With the appreciated help of Dave and Ando, it was received well, ran smoothly, and much fun was had by all. It was discovered during game play that the critical effect freeze was too powerful in its present form, and would have to be altered. King Gedorah played by Ben, was deemed King of the monsters with a 158 points earned.

RIGHT into your soulGMS 2 kicks off! I was grateful for Paul’s help and I was surprised and pleased to see the Ed’s present to play, but even more surprised and pleased to see their favorable response to the game. A “team game” option was offered, but the every monster for himself option was employed. Mothra, controlled by, the younger Ed won with 88 points. But graciously gave his winnings to the young girl who played Megalon. However, during this session I discovered that Mothra’s Feat was too powerful and that it would have to be adjusted.

GMS 3 begins. By now there was quite a buzz about GMS and we found ourselves with more players than slots available. So a 5 on 5 team battle was employed with 2 other players controlling the JDF. Special Thanks to Dave and Paul for their tireless efforts on the third and most difficult session. Despite the excellent teamwork and strategy of the evil monsters, the good monsters prevailed and Godzilla played by Sean, and King Kong played by Mike (I think?) tied with 59 points. Sean generously gave the prize to Kong. During this session I found that King Gedorah’s feat was a little to powerful, and would have to be adjusted. I also want to thank Sean who captured all the sights and smells of Havoc XXI on camera.

  • Best Havoc Moments – All the GMS feedback!
  • Surprises – The Eds’s interest in GMS. The lack of adjustment needed after such a testing of the rules.
  • Overall – I had a great time, and met a lot of cool people. Again I want to thank all of you for your help. I couldn’t have done it without you.
